SIAC Committee Minutes

October 22, 2024

Attendance: Tasha Fritz, Roberta Hass, Denise Mueller, Jen Wilwert, Ardie Kuhse, Heid Meyer, Trent Miene, Ryan Martindale, Abbey Cottrell, Tim Dugger

 

Review of Title Programs in our district:

Title IA- Improving Basic Programs Operated by the Local Education Agency-

  1. Allocation $99,681
  2. Program
    1. K-3 Small Group Reading and Math Instruction
    2. 1 FTE Salary and Benefits
  3. Requirements- There are school board policies (505.8 and 505.8R1 for parent and family engagement district-wide). The program also has an annual parent meeting. Input and evaluations are required for the program from parents, SIAC, and school board.

Title IIA- Supporting EZective Instruction

  1. Allocation $17,659.85
  2. Kindergarten 55 students-3 sections, First 58-3, Second 62-3, Third 49-3
    1. Second grade is determined to have the largest number of students and need to have the ratio lowered.

Title IVA- Student Support and Academic Enrichment

  1. Allocation $10,000
  2. Program- increasing access to accelerated learning courses and dual or concurrent enrollment programs. Our district is applying the funds to our new science teacher position.

 

Review of Strategic Plan 2022-2025

Discussion points

  • Reviewed career-ready opportunities for our students
  • Professional development is needed for the use of AI
  • District technology hardware is up to date and looking towards the future
  • Marketing continues to celebrate our district positively
  • Graduation rate for 4-year cohort is 100%
  • Our district has a high retainment of teaching staZ
  • Reviewed staZing for mental health support and the types of data used
  • Looking forward to the bus garage’s new facilities
  • A goal may need to be added regarding the working relationship with AEA
  • Keep a goal regarding retainment of staZ
  • Daycare and preschool should be marketed and included in goals to continue the partnership and possible expanding.
