Regular Monthly Minutes
February 10, 2020
The MFL MarMac Board of Education held its Regular board meeting on February 10, 2020, in the High School Media Center of the Monona Schoolhouse.
President Roys called the meeting to order at 7:01 a.m. Members present at roll call were Gina Roys, Tonya Meyer, Roberta Hass, Josh Grau via telephone, Collin Stubbs and Brian Meyer. Also present were Dale Crozier; Superintendent, and Karla Hanson; Board Secretary. Larry Meyer; High School Principal, joined the meeting at 7:21 a.m.
Motion by T. Meyer, seconded by B. Meyer, to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was unanimously carried.
Motion by T. Meyer, seconded by R. Hass to approve the consent items as presented:
- Minutes for the January 13, 2020, Regular Monthly Meeting, Public Hearing and Notice of Intent to Sell Property, and Public Hearing and Notice of Intent to Transfer Property.
- Bills against the district as listed: General Fund: $79,654.22; Enterprise: $1,390.00; Capital Projects: $35,560.03; PPEL: $48,660.15; Clearing Account: $38,941.25; Little Bulldog Childcare:$2,585.77; Dr. Smith Childcare: $1,197.53; Lunch: $23,123.27.
- The Secretary’s Report, Activity Report and Food Service Report will be filed subject to audit.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Motion by J. Grau, seconded by B. Meyer, to approve the contract of Elsie Meyer as payroll accountant, transfer of Michelle Hontz to elementary music, contract to Mark Reger as cook, and resignation and agreement with Linda Moreland. The motion was carried unanimously.
The Iowa Local Government Risk Pool has been tabled until further information and legal guidance is received from the Department of Education.
Motion by T. Meyer, seconded by C. Stubbs, to approve the Special Education Service Delivery Plan as presented. The motion was carried unanimously.
Motion by R. Hass, seconded by B. Meyer, to set the Public Hearing Date for 2020-21 Calendar for March 9, 2020. The motion was unanimously carried.
Motion by T. Meyer, seconded by C. Stubbs, to set the Public Hearing Date for 2020-21 Budget for April 13, 2020. The motion was unanimously carried.
Larry Meyer, High School Principal, gave a brief report regarding the happenings in the high school. There was no class change for 2020-2021 school year for the football team.
Dr. Crozier spoke about the informational workshops he has presented and will continue to present to the public regarding the bond referendum. Kevin Honeycutt, who was a keynote speaker at a prior School Board Convention will be coming to the district February 13 and 14. He will be meeting with staff, students and the public.
The next board meeting will be held in the High School media center on March 9, 2020, at 6 p.m. President Roys adjourned the meeting at 7:29 a.m.
