MFL MarMac Community School
Minutes for Board Workshop
August 23, 2021
The MFL MarMac Board of Education held a board workshop on August 9, 2021, in the high school learning commons of the Monona schoolhouse.
President Roys called the meeting to order at 6:02 pm. Members present at roll call were Gina Roys, Roberta Hass, Dr. Jonathon Moser and Tonya Meyer. Josh Grau, Colin Stubbs, and Brian Meyer were absent. Also present were Dr. Dale Crozier, Superintendent, and Karla Hanson, Board Secretary. Presenters were Ryan Martindale, Melissa Haberichter, Brandi Crozier and Cheri Moser.
The purpose of this workshop was to review marketing efforts within the district. The presenters discussed how marketing became a long term goal through the SIAC Committee in 2015. Since that time a logo was created and implemented on our websites, letterhead, etc. There has been a struggle to get everyone to use the same logo, but that is improving.
The pandemic pushed the district into new directions, one of which was to go online for more things, such as announcements through social media and online registration. Our website has been updated with the help of a Iroc Web Design Services. One of the major changes, besides the look of the website, it that the district holds more control over what changes are made.
The areas of social media campaigns, live streaming, branding, secondary logos, unique department and program logos, online reviews and overall curb appeal were discussed. Following a tour of the building and looking at prototypes of different signage options, the board asked the marketing team to come up with a proposal for both buildings. The board expressed their appreciation to the marketing team for taking the time to do the workshop.
Meeting adjourned at 7:54 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Karla Hanson
Board Secretary
